CLEAN STILL - FRAMED

Between pause, memory, and the habits of attention, Clean Still finds a quiet tension in the act of keeping things together. Its central pile suggests knowledge not as a finished system, but as something repeatedly gathered, consulted, and left in temporary order. The title gives this arrangement a measured calm, though the stack remains slightly unsettled, as if thought itself has not quite settled into place.

The uneven volumes lean into one another without losing their independence. That balance lends the work a sense of lived concentration - the kind formed through returning to familiar ideas while allowing them to change. Nothing here insists on a single narrative; the pile may feel archival, domestic, or inward, depending on the memories it awakens.

Warm ochre and orange passages carry a restrained vitality through the composition, keeping its contemplation from becoming withdrawn. Against the cooler surrounding atmosphere, they read like brief instances of recognition: a page remembered, a sentence revisited, a thought brought back into reach. The pale horizontal surface below gives these associations a grounded, present-tense quality.

What endures is the work’s refusal to separate order from uncertainty. The books appear held in balance, yet their irregular edges preserve the possibility of interruption, discovery, or further rearrangement. In that suspended condition, the still life becomes less about objects than about the inward life that gathers around them - patient, alert, and quietly unfinished.
