CITRINE STATION - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Between departure and arrival, Citrine Station holds a moment of suspended decision, where the night seems to gather around whoever has paused to meet it. The solitary figure stands between the station’s shelter and the approaching train, carrying the particular stillness of someone not yet claimed by either direction. Warm light reaches outward from the darkness, offering recognition without resolving what comes next.

The suitcase gives the scene a human weight, but not a fixed story. It may belong to a traveler, a return, or simply to the necessity of moving on. Around this uncertainty, the station windows glow like fragments of remembered welcome, while the rain-slick platform carries their reflections into the foreground. The distance feels less like an empty interval than a place where expectation becomes almost tangible.

The locomotive’s headlamp advances through deep blue shadow, turning the tracks into a line of insistence. Its arrival does not dispel the quiet; it intensifies it, bringing the future close enough to illuminate the figure while leaving the surrounding darkness intact. Above, the rising plume and small marks in the sky keep the scene open, as though departure has already begun in thought before the train reaches the platform.
