CHINESE MOON FESTIVAL - FRAMED

Across a dark expanse where light seems to gather without a shore, Chinese Moon Festival presents celebration as a drifting constellation rather than a fixed place. The lantern-like forms appear to hold their radiance inward, while the surrounding blue-black water gives that warmth room to breathe. Their abundance suggests a shared occasion, yet the absence of people leaves the scene suspended between public festivity and private contemplation.

The reflections do not simply repeat the lights; they break them into wavering paths that draw the eye toward the distance. A bright vertical trail near the center gives the water a moment of focus, as though the scattered glow were briefly finding its way into a single current. Around it, darker floating shapes preserve an element of uncertainty, keeping the scene from becoming wholly serene.

What lingers is the meeting of communal brightness and open night. The field of amber, red, yellow, and pale light feels generous, but its reflection remains fragile, altered by every suggestion of movement below. In that tension, the work becomes less a depiction of an event than an image of hope carried across darkness - visible, shared, and never entirely still.
