CHAMPAGNE CURRENTS - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Within the charged hush of deep water, Champagne Currents follows a moment of movement that feels both intimate and untethered. Two luminous fish travel through opposing directions, yet their paths seem joined by the same spiraling force. The upward-turning figure at lower left gives the scene a sense of emergence, as though attention itself were being drawn toward a brighter, less certain distance.

The fish do not appear to inhabit a tranquil world. Their flowing fins and vivid bodies hold a fragile poise against the surrounding turbulence, suggesting how companionship can persist without stillness or complete agreement. Along the left side, bubbles rise like small interruptions - signs of breath, passage, or thoughts released before they can be gathered again.

Light opens through the upper right while the surrounding blue deepens around the edges, creating an atmosphere that is immersive rather than merely expansive. The central sweep of water seems to carry the figures beyond any fixed destination, leaving the work suspended between freedom and surrender. Its energy is buoyant, but never weightless; beneath the brightness runs a feeling of depth that cannot be crossed at a glance.
