CANDLES — A dramatic decorative still life centered on five tall, unlit white candles. Their varied heights create a strong vertical rhythm, while ornate curling arms in gold, bronze, and brown tones spread across the composition with sculptural presence. The arrangement brings together metallic warmth, pale candlelight hues, and vivid accents in a richly layered display.
Expressive, heavily textured brushwork gives the scene a tactile, palette-knife-like surface. Red, orange, purple, and green details branch through the lower half, drawing the eye toward a rounded, reflective multicolored vessel in the foreground. Behind the arrangement, layered charcoal and gray strokes form an indistinct, somber setting. Contrasting light and dark marks emphasize the candle forms, spiral arms, colorful branches, and vessel, balancing decorative intricacy with atmospheric depth.
With its centered silhouette and dramatic palette, this piece brings an ornate focal point to dining rooms, studies, entryways, or intimate entertaining spaces. The candelabrum-inspired subject suits interiors that favor expressive texture, sculptural detail, and moody decorative accents. Its combination of gold-toned structure, white candles, and unexpected jewel-like colors offers visual interest from across the room while rewarding closer viewing.
