Against the broad hush of the shoreline, Calm Shape Moment considers balance as a lived condition rather than a fixed achievement. The stones rise in an uneven column, each dependent on the weight and position of the others, while the open water behind them gives that fragile arrangement a sense of scale. Its calm is not empty; it holds the alertness of something carefully maintained.
The central stack draws attention to the interval between stability and collapse. Smaller fragments scattered below suggest that balance is shaped by what has already fallen away, not only by what remains upright. Pale stone edges emerge from the subdued coastal atmosphere, lending the arrangement a measured presence without turning it into a symbol with a single meaning.
The low horizon extends the work beyond the immediate act of stacking, toward a slower rhythm of tide, return, and adjustment. The shoreline feels less like a setting than a counterforce - broad, shifting, and indifferent to human order. In that tension, the upright stones offer a modest form of attention: a pause held long enough to become its own kind of equilibrium.
