BUTTERFLY WING GEMS

Its compressed geometry turns Butterfly Wing Gems into a meditation on order held within transformation. The title suggests a fragile origin, yet the work feels more architectural than delicate, as if flight has been divided into jewel-like chambers and caught at the moment before becoming whole. Its drama comes from the tension between intimate scale and an implied expanse beyond the frame.

Dark borders guide the eye through a diagonal progression, giving the composition the character of a private constellation or an intricate mechanism whose purpose remains just out of reach. Electric blue and turquoise press against copper and amber, not as simple opposites but as distinct kinds of radiance - cool distance beside gathered warmth. The close view makes each section feel self-contained, while their overlap hints at a larger pattern that cannot be fully possessed at once.

Fine radiating marks within the colored forms introduce a sense of growth, though nothing here settles into a literal natural scene. Instead, the work hovers between specimen and vision, inviting attention to the ways beauty can be assembled from interruption, pressure, and luminous difference. The small white accent near the lower edge acts like a final glint of uncertainty, preserving the sense that these forms are still in the process of revealing themselves.
