BURNING CITY - FRAMED

Between nocturnal tension and sudden illumination, Burning City turns the urban scene into a threshold where danger and wonder occupy the same charged space. The skyline does not settle into a recognizable place; its vertical lights feel like a collective pulse, rising from darkness while the central glow resists being contained. This is a city understood less as architecture than as an emotional weather system, bright enough to draw the eye and uncertain enough to withhold reassurance.

The dark figure at the right gives that radiance a human measure. With an arm extended toward the burst, the figure may be reaching for release, warning against it, or simply caught in the instant when private will meets overwhelming force. Its obscurity keeps the gesture open, allowing the scene to hold both urgency and solitude without resolving either.

Below, the reflected light breaks apart into bands of blue, gold, and magenta, as though the city’s energy continues moving after it leaves the sky. Water becomes a second register of the scene - less stable, more inward - where the fiery center is remembered in fragments. The surrounding violets and deep blues preserve a sense of night beyond the glow, giving the work its lasting tension between arrival and aftermath.
