BROKEN VISION - FRAMED

Against a shifting atmospheric field, Broken Vision turns the solitary bird into a figure of alert restraint. Its dark profile, angled toward the right, seems held between departure and refusal, as though attention itself has become a physical stance. The surrounding blues and violets do not soften that tension; they give it distance and depth.

The long beak directs the eye beyond the limits of the scene, toward something withheld rather than clearly anticipated. Pale accents across the head and back interrupt the bird’s darkness, suggesting thought under pressure - not revelation, but a consciousness that remains sharply awake.

Beneath it, the uneven branch offers only a temporary foothold. The warm grasses and low bands of earth-toned color bring the image back from abstraction, yet they do not make the setting reassuring. Instead, they locate the bird within a world that feels exposed, watchful, and difficult to read.

What lingers is the tension between stillness and movement. The bird has not taken flight, but neither does it appear settled; its posture preserves the charged instant before a decision becomes visible. In that suspended interval, the work gives solitude a distinctly outward-facing quality, more like vigilance than withdrawal.
