BROKEN BALANCE - FRAMED

Amid its crowded flowering abundance, Broken Balance turns fullness into a study of competing energies. The garden does not settle into a single rhythm; blossoms rise and press against one another while rounded forms gather below, as if several moods were seeking equal ground. Its pleasure comes with a slight instability, the sense that exuberance can be both shelter and disturbance.

The large yellow bloom at the upper left establishes a generous beginning, yet the surrounding flowers refuse to remain subordinate. White, pink, purple, and red blossoms create a lively succession, each presence adding insistence to the whole. The arrangement feels less like a fixed garden than a moment of ongoing negotiation, where brightness continually makes room for brightness.

Across the lower foreground, the yellow, turquoise, orange, and pink forms introduce a gentler order. Their rounded repetition gives the scene a pulse beneath its floral density, inviting attention to the difference between balance and stillness. Nothing here appears fully resolved, but the lack of resolution keeps the image open, buoyant, and alert.

A muted blue-green distance holds this abundance without diminishing it, lending the flowers a setting in which vitality can be felt rather than explained. The work carries the character of a remembered garden transformed by feeling: familiar in its generosity, yet subtly strange in the way its separate intensities coexist.
