At the center of its fractured order, Broken Axis turns interruption into a form of momentum. The composition does not settle into a stable grid; its horizontal and vertical divisions seem to press against one another, as though structure were continually giving way. A vivid central passage of orange and ochre carries warmth through the surrounding severity, making the disruption feel active rather than merely broken.
The darker blocks at the edges establish a weight that the brighter intervals resist.
