BLUES OF FALLING LEAFS B&W PALETTE KNIFE Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

BLUES OF FALLING LEAFS B&W — A quiet autumn walkway unfolds beneath a broad, richly colored canopy. Saturated reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and ochres gather around a prominent dark trunk, while the surrounding landscape shifts into charcoal, gray, and white. This striking contrast gives the scene a reflective stillness and a distinctly graphic presence.

The path draws the eye toward a small distant figure, creating depth through strong central perspective. Fallen leaves scatter across the dark ground, echoing the foliage overhead. Along the right side, a deep blue-green fence and railing angle into the distance, adding structure to the composition. Pale light filters through irregular openings in the canopy, catching selected leaves against layered gray brushwork. Expressive, heavily textured strokes lend the surface a tactile, palette-knife character, balancing energetic marks with the calm rhythm of the receding path.

Its combination of grayscale surroundings and vivid seasonal color brings visual drama without sacrificing tranquility. Display it in a living room, study, hallway, or reading nook to introduce an autumnal focal point with strong depth, textural interest, and a contemplative mood. The defined walkway and diagonal fence make it especially effective where a composition with directional movement can complement the room.
