The darkest time

They say the darkest time of the day is before the sunrise. The clock struck six times. The morning has come even though it doesn’t feel this way. It looks more like a dark gloomy night with pouring rain outside. You don’t want to get out of your warm bed and go to work. You wish you could stay in and enjoy listening to the monotonous sound of the rain which would take you back to dreamland. The lanterns outside are the only source of light until the sun finally comes out.
