AFTER MORNING - FRAMED

Between the shaded room and the open garden, After Morning holds the suspended ease of a day not yet claimed by obligation. The seating gathers the eye like a place briefly left undisturbed, while the dense foliage beyond keeps the scene from becoming fully enclosed. Its brightness feels less like spectacle than permission - an invitation to remain attentive to the interval between shelter and weather.

The vivid textile falling toward the foreground gives that calm a counterweight. Its orange-red presence is generous and immediate, set against the shifting company of pillows whose varied hues suggest comfort assembled over time rather than arranged for display. The bench becomes more than furniture here; it carries the impression of pause, conversation just ended, or silence that has become companionable.

Light moves unevenly through the foliage and across the room, allowing shadow to remain part of the welcome. The blue opening and deep greens create a sense of air passing through the interior, while the warm surrounding tones hold the scene close. Nothing announces a conclusion. The work stays with the particular richness of a morning lingering beyond its appointed hour.
