ABANDONED BY WINTER - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

ABANDONED BY WINTER — A quiet winter park unfolds in saturated blues, violets, and cobalt, where a solitary dark-clad figure pauses along a glowing path. Warm lamps punctuate the cool atmosphere, casting orange and yellow light across a reflective walkway. The scene balances stillness and drama, inviting a lingering look at its atmospheric contrast.

Broad, layered brushstrokes build the semi-abstract setting with expressive texture and vivid complementary color. Bare, slender trees rise through the middle and right side, while dense blue foliage-like forms gather along the left. A weathered wooden bench rests in the right foreground, angled toward the path. Across the wet-looking ground, fragmented reflections stretch horizontally in blue, pink, orange, yellow, and white. Glowing lamps lead the eye toward the background, creating depth along the central walkway and emphasizing the figure’s sense of solitude.

Its cool palette, warm illumination, and reflective surfaces bring a contemplative focal point to living rooms, reading corners, bedrooms, or quiet office spaces. The combination of wintry atmosphere and energetic brushwork suits interiors that favor expressive color, urban park imagery, and a thoughtful, cinematic mood. Viewed from across a room, the bright lamps and central path establish a strong visual anchor; closer inspection reveals layered marks, shifting reflections, and richly textured transitions.
