I would like to present my hand painted oil on canvas painting (recreation) of the artwork SLEEPING CITY. The artwork has texture, you can feel the strokes by touching the painting. By purchasing on this site, you are buying directly from the artist Leonid Afremov. I guarantee your satisfaction and the best customer experience.

The certificate of authenticity will include the name of the owner who purchased the piece of artwork. The certificate is signed by Leonid Afremov. about this painting:

Magical transformation

At night, the city changes in a miraculous way. Bright colors of the day give way to enigmatic shadows lurking in somber corners and taking quirky shapes born in your imagination. Everything that was clear and distinct in the daylight takes on a new mysterious appearance and reveals its hidden charm visible only at a late hour. Oblivious to the passage of time, you keep watching the play of reflections on the wet asphalt, the bickering of lanterns along the road and the rotation of stars in the black sky until the first beam of the rising sun breaks this wonderful illusion and gets the world back to normal. Fascinated by the beauty of the sleeping city, Leonid Afremov created this lovely cityscape worth of hanging in any modern apartment, including yours.

Harmony of the night

Being a true follower of contemporary art philosophy, the artist didn’t only capture a nice-looking urban view on canvas – he filled it with vibrant colors and subtle emotions. Twinkling with all shades of the spectrum, the rain-soaked street is luminous and festive, its bright reflections playing on the wet asphalt. The burning lampposts spread warm orange glow that makes the by-standing buildings look like golden statuettes. In this whirlpool of colors and lights, we can barely distinguish a lonely silhouette walking down the magnificently illuminated street, lost in the beauty of this rainy night. You can feel the harmony of this peaceful scene washing all over you and leaving you a bit happier than a second ago. Even the stormy sky overhead is full of sudden red, yellow and green flashes igniting in its inky depth.
