about this painting:
Rodeo the Chase
Luck likes the brave
Radio is always a very exciting sight and in his rodeo painting Leonid Afremov used the most vivid colors, with the help of which it becomes even more spectacular and exciting. In the center of the picture we see a riding horseman. He is trying to lasso a bull, which, however, is behind him. Leonid depicted the rodeo process itself and we can assume that another rider who is trying to catch the bull is behind. And our horseman is chasing another bull. This is the very essence of rodeo. In order to show that the action of the picture takes place at the most intense moment, the artist depicted a horse with its legs tucked. Thus, we understand that it is jumping over some kind of obstacle. But the cowboy holds tight in the saddle without relaxing for a minute. And so he is ready to throw his lasso it on the neck of the bull at any moment. The artist depicted him in real cowboy clothes – jeans, leather jacket, and hat, an indispensable attribute of any cowboy.
As always, the artist used a large number of bright colors to depict the background of his rodeo oil painting. And as always, they correspond to the mood of the picture and express the main emotions of the protagonist – the cowboy – unbridled passion, determination, courage and rage.
