about this painting:

Old Summer House

Mysterious place

This painting, included in the list of famous house paintings by Leonid Afremov, is called The Old Summer House. But what do we see? Bare trees, yellow foliage at their footsteps, this daytime grayness reminiscent of autumn fog - everything says that before us is not a summer but autumn landscape. In the center of the painting, we see a man on his way to the side of an old house. In his hands we see an umbrella – a clear sign that it's raining. And the path along which he walks glitters with the rain drops. The fallen yellow leaves, which have become soaked in water, have already turned into a kind of mush. The bare trees standing with straight trunks along the path ominously spread their branches; and behind them begins a dense forest enveloped in fog and autumn dampness. In the foreground we see a lantern standing alone with light flicking dimly behind the misted glass. This again indicates that low visibility caused by fog.

So, the man with an umbrella in his hands slowly walks to a lonely two-story house. The house looks old and abandoned filled with all kinds of evil spirits and ghosts. The blue light behind the locked windows, the slightly peeling walls and the roof, dimmed from the rain, do not inspire confidence, but on the contrary arouse suspicion and even fear. About what this man needs in this house we can only guess.

In any case, it seems to us that this painting will please all fans of autumn landscapes who will also be able to feel the atmosphere of puzzlement and mystery that reigns only in a few pictures by Leonid Afremov.

My two paintings arrived in record time in Perth, Australia. The ability to track the shipment was excellent. But most of all the paintings have illuminated my house, and I can't stop smiling each time I look at them. Your art is amazing. Congratulations.

I just received my painting in the mail and it is absolutely amazing. It looks even better than it does on the website. I love all the vivid colors and being able to see the intricate brush strokes in person really gives the painting a sense of movement and passion. Can't wait to get it framed and put up on my wall. Keep up the great work! I hope to buy another piece soon.
