about this painting:
EXPLORE THE EAST
Oriental cultures have always been considered very mysterious and unperceivable. Their ancient traditions, strict religious laws and amazing handcrafts exited our minds for centuries. Moreover, oriental languages are usually Semitic languages, which are very different from English and are extremely difficult to learn.
GIFTS FROM THE OTHER SIDE
All Oriental countries have their unique personalities. Here are presented the most famous and extraordinary things that Eastern countries have given to the world:
- Martial arts. We all know about karate, aikido, sumo and judo. All of this techniques where invented and developed to perfection in Asia. However, nowadays schools of karate and judo are wide-spread all over the world.
- Food. A Turkish street food kebab is now conquering the world. New York is famous not only for its skyscrapers and Wall street but for an incredible amount of Chinese restaurants.
- Philosophy and religion. You do not have to be Muslim or to practice Confucianism or Buddhism to enjoy their unusual and interesting understanding of life. For example, Buddists believe that life is suffering and the only way to leave an eternal circle of infinite suffering is to do certain practices. Buddists do not have a right to cause suffering to other living creatures. They are also looking for harmony and peace in their souls – something we all ought to be looking for.
- Moroccan ceramics. Morocco is famous for its mud and the articles local artists produce from it. Ceramic dishes and tile coating are valued all over the world.
Turkey also has skillful masters who can make unique jars from coper. They are difficult to make because this element is very malleable, and one careless movement can ruin everything.
A wonderful example of an Oriental coper jar you can see on one of the paintings by Leonid Afremov. He is a world-know impressionist artists. Afremov has travelled a lot in his life, and has seen many foreign countires. These trips gave him enough material to create hundreds of original works dedicated to many different topics.
The jar that you see is used for storing wine. We also notice an appetizing goblet of wine near the jar and a couple of fruits.
This still life will be a perfect decoration for your kitchen or living room. It will bring something exotic and refreshing even to the most ordinary space. Also, it looks very inviting and gives a tone for a lovely dinner or supper.
