I would like to present my hand painted oil on canvas painting (recreation) of the artwork MAGICAL ST. PETERSBURG. I made this piece with the same amount of soul and emotion just like the first original painting. This piece is created with oil paint on artistic canvas using my unique technique of a palette knife. The artwork has texture, you can feel the strokes by touching the painting. By purchasing on this site, you are buying directly from the artist Leonid Afremov. I guarantee your satisfaction and the best customer experience.

The certificate of authenticity will include the name of the owner who purchased the piece of artwork. The certificate is signed by Leonid Afremov. If you buying this painting as a gift, please provide us the name of the gift recipient for the certificate. We can also ship to the address of the recipient of your gift

about this painting:

Leonid Afremov’s oeuvre

An Israeli-Russian artist

Leonid Afremov is a very talented Israeli-Russian impressionist artist. His life has never been easy. He has lived in four different countries: Belarus, when it used to a part of former USSR, Israel, the USA, and now he decided to accept an early retirement recommended by his doctors and move to Mexico. No matter how hard life has been on him, he has managed to create a wonderful family: a loving wife and supportive children who now successfully run this virtual gallery (if would like to know more about Leonid Afremov’s life, go to the Afremov Bio tab on the top of this webpage). Leonid Afremov mainly paints in an impasto technique using oil paints and a palette knife. In his online gallery you can find hundreds of hand-painted and unique artworks:

  • Fantastic cityscapes depicting different cities he has been to;
  • Breathtaking seascapes with magnificent giant waves and calm water at the sunset of sunrise which strike you with their beautiful colors;
  • Outstanding landscapes depicting the nature in its all beauty;
  • Realistically looking still life which usually have a much deeper meaning than it might seem at the first sight;
  • Beautiful portraits of people and animals;
  • Online video lessons on how to paint the way he does;

When you purchase a painting, you will get free delivery to any city all over the world. As a proof of its authenticity you will also receive a certificate which will have Afremov’s signature and your name on it.

The Painting of Saint Petersburg

As Leonid Afremov has traveled a lot in his life, he has many outstanding cityscapes in his collection. They are the paintings of such European cities as Venice, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, landmarks in America and Russia. Sometimes, when he wanted to depict all of the beauty of one exact moment, he would take a photo and then later, in the relaxed atmosphere of home, he would paint it in a canvas. Saint Petersburg has always been one of Afremov’s favorite cities in Russia. This particular canvas can definitely freshen up and brighten any interior and become the center of attention for your guests.  If you’ve been to Saint Petersburg before, it will help to evoke all good memories you had there. If you still haven’t visited this beautiful city then this painting of a talented Russian painter can become a great motivation for you to make your dream come true.

I previously posted that I had just discovered your amazing art and was unable to afford any of it, at least for the time being. I had mentioned that I would look for a print in the mean time. Today I received an e-mail for a site that is all affordable prints. Luckily I was given a gift card for Christmas and I will be able to afford one of the small prints.I am so excited to be able to own a print of your amazing pieces of art. I am often stuck in my bed for long periods of time and I know that being able to see the print on my wall with all of the vibrant colors and beautiful scenes will have a very positive impact on my mood and mind. Now the only problem is picking just one.I hope that if there is anyone else in my financial situation that you find this helpful.

I'm a retired jazz trombonist. The essence of jazz is improvisation. Improvisation is the ability to look at a thing from a different perspective each time you look at it. That is what the pallet knife wielding Mr. Leonid Afremov does with his recreations. I have the pleasure of waking each morning and looking up the rain swept street of "The Loneliness of Autumn" and wondering where my road may take each day. I wasn't prepared for the blaze of color or the depth of feeling when I tore the boxing open at delivery even though I had looked at the painting on the internet dozens of times before purchasing. It was like seeing and hearing Louis Armstrong in person for the first time after just listening to him on recordings. Some times it even awakens the urge to pick up my horn and blow a few choruses straight at the painting expecting it to blow a chorus or two back at me. The man is a magician.
