SYMBOLISM OF COLORS

Fine arts would never have existed if we didn’t have the ability to distinguish colors. There are some species of animals who do not have this ability like cats and dogs. However, for human survival telling colors apart was as important as running fast and communicating well with the group. For example, you can tell if some fruit is good or bad just by looking at its color.

However, later people begin to recreate life by drawing and painting different forms of it. Firstly, they thought that the most important thing is to recreate the shapes of different object for future generations to know what they are. Let’s look at some basic colors:

• This is the symbol of life, passion and energy. This color is very sensual and sexy as well. Nonetheless, for many centuries it has been also associated with violence and riot, since human blood is also red. When somebody uses this color, it always means strong emotion.
