The basis of the painting, its plot consists of the figure of a person walking along the boulevard, although we can hardly make out its outlines - it's impossible to tell whether this is a man or a woman, in what he or she is dressed. But actually this is unimportant because the emptiness around him or her,  the boulevard  desolate of inhabitants,  the night atmosphere of the autumn city quite accurately convey his or her mood. The painting is literally penetrated with melancholy and romance. It is first of all created by the trees that cover the celestial vault with their crones dressed in colorful autumn leaves.
