Not every artwork offered on Afremov.com was painted by Leonid Afremov.

Afremov.com offers several distinct categories of artwork, including one-of-a-kind original oil paintings personally created by Leonid Afremov during his lifetime, hand-painted studio recreations, original works created by Afremov Studio artists, limited editions, mixed-media works, giclée prints, and other art products.

The majority of artworks offered on Afremov.com are not one-of-a-kind original paintings personally painted by Leonid Afremov. They are primarily hand-painted recreations created by Afremov Studio artists, studio originals, limited editions, mixed-media works, or giclée prints.

The category and characteristics of each artwork are identified in its individual product listing.

Our Philosophy: Art for the Home

The philosophy of the Afremov family and Afremov.com has always been to make colorful, beautiful artwork accessible to people who want to enjoy it in their homes.

The majority of artwork offered on Afremov.com is created, offered, and marketed as home décor and should not be regarded as an investment in art or as a financial asset.

We strive to provide attractive, high-quality artwork at accessible prices. The quality of an artwork, the name associated with its composition, or the fact that an artwork was created by hand should not be interpreted as a representation that the artwork is rare, investment-grade, collectible, or likely to increase in value.

Some artworks have exceptional historical, personal, or emotional significance to the Afremov family. These include certain unique one-of-a-kind works personally created by Leonid Afremov and preserved by the family for many years. Such works may be offered at substantially higher prices.

At the same time, Leonid Afremov was a highly prolific artist. During his lifetime, he created not only unique works of particular importance, but also numerous paintings and repeated versions of popular compositions intended to make his art available to a broad audience.

The fact that an artwork was personally created by Leonid Afremov does not, by itself, mean that it is rare, highly valuable, collectible, or an investment-grade artwork.

Certain works personally created by Leonid Afremov may therefore be offered at comparatively accessible prices depending on their category, history, composition, condition, provenance, market demand, and other circumstances.

Our fundamental purpose is to offer beautiful artwork for people to enjoy in their homes and personal spaces. Artwork should be purchased because the customer enjoys it and wishes to display it, rather than because of an expectation of financial return.

One-of-a-Kind Originals by Leonid Afremov

One-of-a-kind original oil paintings personally painted by Leonid Afremov during his lifetime are specifically identified as such in their individual product descriptions and are offered in our Original Oil Paintings category.

One-of-a-kind original oil paintings personally painted by Leonid Afremov are generally priced at $5,000 USD or more before promotional discounts or coupon codes.

Unless an artwork is expressly identified in its individual product listing as a one-of-a-kind original oil painting personally painted by Leonid Afremov, a selling price below $5,000 should not be understood as indicating that the artwork is such an original.

Artwork offered at lower prices may include a hand-painted studio recreation, limited edition, mixed-media work, giclée print, an original work created by an Afremov Studio artist, or another category of artwork as stated in the applicable product listing.

Certain works personally created by Leonid Afremov may also be offered at lower prices when they do not belong to the category of unique, one-of-a-kind originals described above.

From time to time, Afremov.com may offer promotional discounts, special sales, or coupon codes applicable to certain artworks, including original works by Leonid Afremov. A promotional or discounted purchase price does not alter the authorship, classification, authenticity, or nature of an artwork.

Signatures, Logos and Trademarks

Depending on the category and the period in which an artwork was produced, an artwork may bear the registered AFREMOV® trademark and/or a stylized Leonid Afremov signature or logo based on Leonid Afremov's original signature.

The presence of the name “Leonid Afremov,” the AFREMOV® trademark, or a stylized Leonid Afremov signature or logo on the front or back of an artwork does not, by itself, mean that the artwork is a one-of-a-kind original, was personally painted by Leonid Afremov, or was individually hand-signed by him.

This distinction is particularly important for Afremov Studio recreations produced during Leonid Afremov's lifetime and through approximately 2019–2020.

Certain recreations from this period may bear a stylized Leonid Afremov signature or logo on the artwork. Such marking was used as part of Afremov Studio branding and identification of works based on Leonid Afremov's compositions and should not be interpreted, by itself, as proof that the particular artwork is a one-of-a-kind original personally painted by Leonid Afremov.

Accordingly, a visible “Leonid Afremov” name, stylized signature, logo, or other Afremov branding must not be used by itself to determine authorship or originality.

The nature, category, and authorship of an artwork are determined by its individual product description, product category, provenance where applicable, accompanying documentation, and other identifying characteristics , rather than solely by a signature, name, trademark, or logo appearing on the artwork.

Studio Recreations

Studio recreations are hand-painted in oil on canvas by Afremov Studio artists. Depending on when they were produced, they may bear Afremov Studio branding, a stylized Leonid Afremov signature or logo, and/or the signature or identification of the creating studio artist on the reverse.

Giclée Prints and Prints

Giclée prints and other prints may bear the stylized Leonid Afremov logo on the front and/or reverse.

Limited Editions

Limited editions may also bear a stylized Leonid Afremov signature or logo on the front and/or reverse, as described in the applicable product listing.

Original Works by Afremov Studio Artists

Original works created by Afremov Studio artists, including works inspired by or created in the artistic style associated with Leonid Afremov, may bear the AFREMOV® trademark on the front and the creating artist's signature or identification on the reverse.

Only artworks specifically identified in their individual product listing and accompanying documentation as original works personally painted by Leonid Afremov should be understood as such.

The appearance of such names, trademarks, signatures, or logos is not, standing alone, a representation that the artwork is a one-of-a-kind original personally painted or individually hand-signed by Leonid Afremov.

By purchasing artwork from Afremov.com, the customer acknowledges that Afremov.com offers multiple categories of artwork with substantially different characteristics and price levels, and that the authorship and classification of an individual artwork are determined by its specific product listing and accompanying documentation.

If a customer specifically wishes to purchase a one-of-a-kind original oil painting personally created by Leonid Afremov, the customer should purchase only an artwork expressly identified as such in its individual product listing and should not rely solely upon the artwork's price, appearance, signature, logo, trademark, or the fact that it is offered for sale on Afremov.com.
