about this painting:
Early Morning in the Woods
The forest colors
Early Morning in the Woods is one of Afremov’s paintings the autumn colors of which do not cease to amaze. But on this one they seem especially fresh – with the help of them the artist conveys all the freshness of the autumn morning in the forest. This palette most closely matches the image of autumn landscapes on the works of the famous masters of art. And Leonid managed to masterfully convey all these colors – the painting combines such purely autumnal shades as red, orange, yellow, purple and burgundy. But the blue colors of the autumn sky are also added to them. It is namely with the help of these colors that we can feel not only the autumn mood, but also the autumn coolness, the light autumn breeze and the palpitation of the foliage. It is interesting to note that while in the foreground the foliage is colored in the classic autumn colors, in the background, everything appears in blue – as if behind tinted glass. So that you can even feel that the freshness of winter. However, all the colors are very harmonious!
Remember that autumn is the time for forest walks. So as soon as you have free time, take the baskets and go to the forest for the autumn gifts, and the painting of Leonid Afremov will always fill your home with warmth and autumn colors.
The forest gifts
To walk through the woods with a basket for russules or strawberries is a fascinating occupation, but it is too predictable. In fact, in some forests there are many more original gifts of nature. Try to find at least something from this list:
- Mushrooms. Most likely, you know and can identify the main types of mushrooms that can be found in the autumn forest: boletus, red and yellow boletus, porcinos, chanterelles, girolles, honey fungus, saffron milk cap, paxils and others.
- Edible chestnut is similar to horse chestnut, but its shell is covered with many sharp thorns, while horse chestnut has thick and dull spikes on the shell.
- Hazelnuts are picked up in September; they must be picked up from the ground near the bush or carefully from the bush itself, since they may be still immature. In principle, unripe nuts are eatable.
- Wild dill. The seeds should be harvested when the plant is in blossom, and in the autumn you can collect leaves. These thin leaves add an excellent flavor to fish dishes (especially salmon); they can be added to salads.
