about this painting:

Impressionism is one of many art genres. It appeared in the end of 19th century in France and still has a lot of followers all over the globe.

The main point of interest for impressionists is to transfer a big and constantly changing world on canvas. In order to do this they seek to spend less time in their workshops and more time outside watching the nature au plein air.

They avoided harsh contours and black color. Their canvases are always full of bright colors and dreamy shapes. You can easily recognize impressionistic works because they are so colorful and joyful. All impressionists are optimists by definition.

One of the most well-known impressionists of our time is Leonid Afremov. You can see his works all over the internet, on different forums dedicated to art and in social networks. He is famous for how deftly he uses color on his paintings in order to recreate his emotions and thoughts.

Trying to catch the past

A mysterious alley on the painting looks like a dream. The combination of blue and lilac palettes makes us think about something magical and unreal. The alley is  almost empty, except for a lonely figure in the middle. We cannot see this person’s face but we understand that it is a female silhouette under an umbrella.

Usually, you can see bright lights on Afremov’s paintings. Its sources can be windows or lanterns that emit very warm and radiant light. However, on this painting the light are much more tender. They are so gentle because they belong to the past and not to the present.

The purpose of this painting, just as of many other paintings, is to recreate the artists’s emotions at a given moment of the past. Afremov cares a lot about his inner life. His memories and feelings are the main source of inspiration for him. Meanwhile, his canvases serve as sources of inspiration for their owners because they are so energetic and positive.

Looking at the vibrant colors of Leonid’s paintings, I couldn’t help myself but to order a couple during his Birthday Special Deal offered on 12th July 2014. Unfortunately, due to some error I received a package of wrong paintings. However, upon my pointing it out to Boris, this large hearted family admitted the mistake and sent me my correct package. I have now received my correct paintings and they are amazingly beautiful. A very nice addition to my personal collection. I will for sure order again from them as the paintings are worth every single penny. And more so they are amazingly affordable for a painter of international repute. Both thumbs up Leonid for your glittering work and commitment.

Dear Leonid, I was so thrilled to receive my beautiful paintings yesterday! I have been showing photographs of my paintings to my friends at school and everyone exclaims how beautiful they are. I also shared your website with them so that they can find paintings to order for their homes or offices. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with the world! Sincerely, Evelyn Stevenson
