Leonid Afremov’s painting depicts perhaps the happiest moment in the life of every person – the one that are remembered for a lifetime. Such moments usually occur in childhood – sooner or later. So at first glance, by no means remarkable moments become memorable for life. The one depicted in the painting is just such a one – the children, a boy and a girl, feed the ducks on the lake. For their image, as well as the image of the landscape as a whole, the artist used a lot of bright colors – these are green grass of a lawn, slightly tucked in autumn colors, the blue paints of the lake and bright children's clothes – the girl is dressed in a light yellow shirt just of the color of the boy’s panama. Squatting down the girl gives food to the ducks, the boy is doing the same. Let's hope that their parents are somewhere nearby and control the actions of the children, although they are already quite adult.
