about this painting:

Muhammad Ali

On the ring

In his paintings Leonid Afremov depicts not only ordinary people but also famous personalities. Thus, Muhammad Ali, the outstanding boxer of our time, is depicted in his oil painting of the same name made on canvas. The painting is made using the technique peculiar to the artist - its background is depicted in the form of multi-colored strokes of different colors among which the turquoise prevails. On the sides of the boxer's figure, we see two bright yellow spots - these are two lanterns illuminating the ring. The ring ropes, also depicted in turquoise colors, almost merge with the background. As well as in the case with many other paintings, Leonid's special attention is paid to drawing people's figures. In this picture, there are 2 of them - the main character of the painting boxer Muhammad Ali and his defeated opponent lying on the floor of the ring. The figures are depicted with such precision that we can determine their state of mind and mood not only on the basis of the plot itself but also looking at their faces. Thus, on the face of Muhammad Ali, we see a kind of smile, typical for the victorious boxer - with one hand he holds the forearm of the other hand, darting a glance full of humiliation at his defeated opponent. Leonid Afremov depicted the bodies of Muhammad Ali boxers with stunning precision, we see the clear elevations of steel muscles on his chest and on his hands whereas his opponent lying on the floor of the ring also gives the impression of a powerful athlete who ventured to challenge the king himself. Perhaps fans of boxing will take him for one of their favorite. But unfortunately that day was not his day. Who knows, maybe his great victories lie ahead.

The Boxer of our time

Another world celebrity has died – a philanthropist, a pacifist, a public figure and a boxing legend, Mohammed Ali. The boy, who was born under the name Cassius Clay, and years later became one of the most famous boxers in history, Mohammed Ali, who suffered for many years from Parkinson's disease.
