about this painting:
Ballet Dancer
Colorful dance
Probably none of you will argue with the fact that ballet is one of the most beautiful dances, since it is namely this dance that conveys all the flexibility and plasticity of the human body. And of course, it seems to us that it should attract first of all men, since the dancers are primarily girls. Just such a girl Leonid Afremov depicted in his Ballet Dancer oil painting. She stands in one of the most difficult ballet poses – her left leg is raised at almost 180 degrees, so that extending her arm to the side, she can easily touch her ankle. On the other side, everything is much simpler – the right hand is just raised up while the foot is tiptoed. If you have ever been to a ballet performance, then you probably know this position.
As for the clothes of our ballerina, she wears a classic ballet tutu and pointe shoes. Her chignon will not interfere her dance until the end of the performance. As for the background, it, as always, is depicted in the form of multi-colored brushstrokes that flow down the canvas as if they sucked by some invisible funnel. However, the ballerina herself is fairly stable, as if held by some kind of invisible power – she is surrounded by the lightest shades of the picture – orange and red, while at the edges we find more dark shades – blue and green.
Exploring the ballet
Continuing to tell you about the ballet we will dwell in more detail on its most popular positions:
- A la seconde – in the leg is extended to the side at the level of 90 degrees, this mark may be higher.
- Attitude – the supporting leg is located on the whole foot or on the toes, while the other leg is stretched back at 30, 90 or even 120 degrees.
- Croise – this position can be performed both on the floor and in the air, in a jump. The legs are crossed while one overlaps the other.
Enjoy the graceful ballet spectacle. If you are not a fan of ballet, then you probably will become interested in this kind of art.
