about this painting:

Shades of loneliness

Those who are looking for a piece of contemporary decorative painting for walls should look at this exquisite canvas by Leonid Afremov. This landscapes depicts a lone man walking in the forest. The hours of loneliness are the time when we are face to face with ourselves and can think of our life, our past and our future. These hours become especially dear to us if some appropriate background encourages us to appreciate our loneliness. Loneliness, therefore, looks different in different places, and loneliness amid the quicksands of a desert is not the same as loneliness of a dark room, with the neighbours’ voices heard from behind the wall. In this painting Leonid Afremov depicts loneliness enveloped in the fog and surrounded by the autumn trees, which is so familiar to those who live in a wooded country.

Immersing in the ladnscape

In order to immerse in this marvellous piece of decorative painting:

1.            Be sure that you are alone and nobody prevents you from enjoying this canvas. It is difficult to immerse in a work dedicated to loneliness if you are surrounded by other persons.

2.            Do not think of your life while looking at the painting. The first thing art demands from us is forgetting ourselves.

3.            Do not be in haste. Art loves those who are ready sacrifice their time to it.

Becoming nothing

When looking at this decorative canvas, we see a path paved with yellow and red leaves. The trees on the left are leafless, with their dark branches seizing the autumn air, while the trees on the right are still wearing their rich apparel. A lone figure of a man is making his way through the forest and resembles some inanimate object that has happened to find himself on this road. The morning fog is stealing the space before his sight, so that no distant tree can be seen by him, and the gay autumn forest suddenly turns into the shapeless white nothingness, with the black skeletons of leafless trees peeping out it here and there.

If you buy this magnificent landscape by Leonid Afremov, it will become a road to yourself, to your very nature, since any time you see the nothingness of this fog, you feel, by contrast, your presence and existence.

I've just received two of your paintings (Farewell to Anger & The Loneliness of Autumn) as a birthday gift from my wonderful husband. This is the absolute best gift I've ever received. Your art is my favorite art of all time. I even have a board of your paintings on Pinterest. In fact, my Facebook cover and profile pictures are your beautiful artwork. Thank you for all the incredible work that you do.

I didn`t expect to get my picture done as fast. The delivery was also very fast. I bought "Paris of my Dreams" and I`m happy with the quality of the painting. Thank you.

I'm a retired jazz trombonist. The essence of jazz is improvisation. Improvisation is the ability to look at a thing from a different perspective each time you look at it. That is what the pallet knife wielding Mr. Leonid Afremov does with his recreations. I have the pleasure of waking each morning and looking up the rain swept street of "The Loneliness of Autumn" and wondering where my road may take each day. I wasn't prepared for the blaze of color or the depth of feeling when I tore the boxing open at delivery even though I had looked at the painting on the internet dozens of times before purchasing. It was like seeing and hearing Louis Armstrong in person for the first time after just listening to him on recordings. Some times it even awakens the urge to pick up my horn and blow a few choruses straight at the painting expecting it to blow a chorus or two back at me. The man is a magician.
