This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures

Where Snow Rests begins with an ink brush on paper up front, then fades into the wider space of a snowy garden corner.

Light is placed in clear value blocks so the composition stays readable. Midground shapes stay simplified and graphic, while texture supplies the nuance. The background dissolves into larger color fields so the main object stays dominant. Light is staged in layers: a bright foreground note, a quieter midground, and a deep receding distance.

Snow white with cobalt shade drives the mood, while soft glow and controlled shadows keep it readable. The mood is meditative with gentle contrast, with the story implied through light, placement, and restraint.

Every surface is constructed for knife work—layered, tactile, and readable, with reflections suggested in a few confident passes.

The composition is staged like a set: foreground clarity, midground context, and a distant layer that fades into color.

Soft reflections appear where they make sense—water, glass, polished stone—kept broad and easy to execute.

The brightest paint sits on the focal object, while the background stays looser and more abstracted to preserve depth.
