This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures

When The Tailfan Shines begins with a tail trailing across tiles up front, then fades into the wider space of a moonlit garden.

Reflections and highlights are suggested with broad strokes instead of tiny linework. Midground shapes stay simplified and graphic, while texture supplies the nuance. Light is staged in layers: a bright foreground note, a quieter midground, and a deep receding distance. Small accents sit where the eye naturally pauses, guiding the viewing path.

Color moves through emerald and sapphire with bronze, building contrast through thick, visible impasto ridges. It feels rich with patterned light, built more from atmosphere than from ornament.

Every surface is constructed for knife work—layered, tactile, and readable, with reflections suggested in a few confident passes.

Texture is emphasized through ridged impasto that catches light and gives the surface a sculptural feel.

The brightest paint sits on the focal object, while the background stays looser and more abstracted to preserve depth.
