This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures

TRAIN YARD IN FOG treats the scene almost like a remembered fragment. What stands out first is parked rail cars and signal posts, but the surrounding world of an industrial train yard at the edge of a city is just as important because it provides scale, rhythm, and silence around the main form.

Instead of chasing tiny detail, the painting relies on large directional marks and confident color blocks. The arrangement is long perspective disappearing into mist, which gives the eye a clear route to follow. Nothing is fussy, yet every scraped edge and loaded stroke contributes to the sense of place.

The light comes from dense morning fog, and that choice changes the entire reading of the image. Brighter passages appear almost carved into the paint, while recessive tones are pressed into softer, flatter passages. Rust red, gray, dull yellow, blue steel set up a contrast that feels dramatic without becoming theatrical.

Seen up close, the impasto becomes part of the subject. Knife marks imitate rough stone, damp air, polished metal, feathers, water, cloth, or weathered wood depending on where they land. That flexibility is what makes the scene convincing as a painting first and a description of a place second.
