This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures

The Arches In Smoke opens on a candlelit study, with a gargoyle ledge detail held in the foreground like a visual anchor.

Edges are carved with decisive knife marks, giving forms a sculpted clarity. Smoke trails adds a second beat of story without crowding the surface. Light is staged in layers: a bright foreground note, a quieter midground, and a deep receding distance. Negative space is used on purpose, letting the composition breathe.

The palette leans into smoked gray with crimson accents, with warm highlights balancing cool cobalt shadow planes. The mood is mysterious and theatrical, with the story implied through light, placement, and restraint.

The design favors paintability: clear silhouettes, big value shapes, and texture that implies detail without demanding it.

Soft reflections appear where they make sense—water, glass, polished stone—kept broad and easy to execute.

The brightest paint sits on the focal object, while the background stays looser and more abstracted to preserve depth.

The composition is staged like a set: foreground clarity, midground context, and a distant layer that fades into color.
