GRITSTONE PASSAGE HORIZON revisits a small shrine standing near broken steps, hovering in faint halos near the horizon, with sea blues dragged into sunlit ochres as a layered surface, where palette knife gestures define space more than line. The first impression is of overall movement and structure, with details emerging only as the viewer lingers.

Thick ridges of paint catch small flashes of light, while scraped passages reveal earlier layers of color beneath. Edges are rarely sharp; instead, planes lean against one another, creating a rhythm of angles and softened transitions. The composition feels built rather than drawn, with each stroke adding weight to the scene.

Throughout the image, hints of quiet harbor tie the textured passages back to the underlying theme. The overall mood is softly dramatic, encouraging a slow reading of the surface as light shifts across it. Viewed from a distance the scene feels cohesive
