TWIN CANDLES ON ALTAR UNDER OPEN SKY presents its subject through thick impasto ridges, broken color, and bold simplified form.

The viewer first meets a pair of candles, placed within a celestial altar. The composition is arranged vertical composition with stars behind, from a slightly elevated viewpoint, under humid atmosphere, so the eye settles on the central forms before drifting into the surrounding space.
