This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures

Along The Rotunda draws you straight to a marble bust on a pedestal, placed close to the picture plane inside an arched loggia.

Midground shapes stay simplified and graphic, while texture supplies the nuance. Light is placed in clear value blocks so the composition stays readable. The overall geometry remains clean, even when the texture is energetic. Light is staged in layers: a bright foreground note, a quieter midground, and a deep receding distance.

Warm stone with gentle gold drives the mood, while soft glow and controlled shadows keep it readable. There is a quietly grand calm to it, even where the texture is bold.

Every surface is constructed for knife work—layered, tactile, and readable, with reflections suggested in a few confident passes.

Soft reflections appear where they make sense—water, glass, polished stone—kept broad and easy to execute.

Directional knife marks subtly point toward the subject, creating movement even in still scenes.
