about this painting:

A journey of one talent

Leonid Afremov, a hearty and skilled palette knife artist of modernity, was born in Vitebsk, Belarus. This city located in the northern part of the country raised a young Belarusian artist to become a widely known creator of marvelous pictures. His native Vitebsk was the point of departure in his life and career that led him to other places where the most important events of his life journey occured.

·         It was Ben Gurion, Israel, where his art was underestimated and ignored.

·         It was Boca Raton, Florida, where he was forced to paint only limited themes and subjects for living. There he also sold his first pictures online via eBay that became one of his major sources of income.

·         It was Playa del Carmen and Cancun, Mexico, where he finally found a place to work and rest painting what he wanted.

Despite everything, it was Vitebsk, the city where Vitba flows into the larger Western Dvina, that has always followed the artist in his sweet memories from childhood. It was the crucial place where the man was born, raised up in love and taught how to do canvas painting.

Vitebsk, the place where everything began

No wonder that Vitebsk, the native city of Leonid Afremov, is depicted on so many of his canvases. The picture is painted in the habitual manner of the artist. Oil paints and palette knife are used to create a patchwork of strokes, layers of texture and a unique feel that is always present in his works. The multicolored palette highlights the recognizable style of the creator.

Vitebsk, the main hero of the story called ‘Where I Grew Up’, appears in the shape of nice small houses standing in a line along the street. In the background, viewers may notice a castle-like building hidden behind the houses and a colorful autumn park. It’s early fall. The trees demonstrate a rich variety of multicolored leaves on their branches. The sky is still summer-like blue and clear after slight rain. The road has turned into a mirror that reflects the whole color palette of the nature and urban area. There are no people in the street. It seems that Leonid Afremov tried to stay on his own with his native city in order to remember those happy days spent together many years ago.

Colorful nostalgia

This beautiful picture is a cluster of warm tones laid on the canvas with great love and care. They symbolize the pleasant and warm feelings of nostalgia connected with the years of childhood, youth, joy and happiness. These memories stay with us forever. And no matter where he will be tomorrow, Vitebsk will always take a special place in the heart of Leonid Afremov and his painting gallery where you can buy this picture online.

I received my order this week. Words cannot describe the beauty that these pieces emanate. Mr. Afremov is our modern day Monet...a true master painter. I recently discovered Mr. Afremov's work and bought several pieces for our wedding anniversary. My wife and I are both amazed at the quality and joy these paintings bring. We cannot stop staring at them. We are extremely pleased with what we received and will most definitely be buying more works in the near future. Customer service is also top notch. Thank you Afremov family!

I bought several paintings many years ago. One was a gift to my fiancée and the other proudly hangs in my office. The first thing people do when they walk in my office is ask about the painting and admire the art work. One of my workers now owns 5! I will be purchasing more soon as I so treasure the one in my office and the other that is now in our house. Stunning work that will bring you many many years of enjoyment!
