about this painting:

THE AURA OF AUTUMN

Romance in autumn colors

Autumn is generally considered to be a gloomy, melancholic time of the year. Constant rains, naked trees with a few lonely leaves still hanging on their branches, lack of sunlight and misty weather don’t actually stimulate happy emotions. However, there is also another side of autumn many people enjoy. The bright glow of the foliage turning scarlet and ochre, the symphony of the falling drops, the broody, contemplative mood you get while walking down a rain-washed alley constitute a special aura of autumn that can be poetic and inspiring. Many famous artists chose autumn to create cheerful and sad paintings depicting the beauty of the season. And Leonid Afremov is among them. His autumn canvases are colorful and romantic. They illustrate long walks through rainy parks, vivid colors of the trees and the play of lights on the wet asphalt. So let’s put our troubles aside and take a refreshing stroll through one of these sceneries hidden under a cozy umbrella!

A mysterious girl

The canvas depicts a girl going somewhere with an open umbrella in her hand. We can’t tell for sure where the heroine is heading. She might be hurrying to work, returning home or simply walking in the park. Her light dress suggests it is still warm, but the trees already changed their colors, so it must be at least early October. The girl’s hair and dress are swayed by the light wind and the rain is still dripping from the pale sky, but her umbrella safely covers her head and we probably shouldn’t worry she might catch cold. We don’t see her face, only a vague profile, and can only guess her state of mind and emotions from her posture. It seems the girl is a bit sad – perhaps she got her shoes wet or had a quarrel with her boyfriend. We don’t know that. But we can be sure the charm of the autumn park will lift up her mood and, for a couple of minutes, make her forget about any mishaps she had during the day!

This marvelous painting will make a fine addition to any home:

  • Bright colors will spruce up bare walls and raise your mood.
  • The mysterious image of a girl will add an element of romance to your room design.
  • The unique style of the artist will show everyone your immaculate taste in art!

The paintings are beautiful. Words really can't do justice to it. I found his paintings through a friend. I was nervous about buying art online, and there were a few bumps along the way (problems with the beta website, a shipping delay, and one of my 5 paintings was the incorrect one). But they went out of their way to fix the issue and I was so impressed that I have already ordered another painting and have my eye on several others. The paintings are very well packed for shipping. The hardest part is deciding what to purchase. I do wish there were more small artworks available (16" by 20" or smaller) so I could enjoy the paintings in smaller spaces like my office.
