about this painting:

Traveling broadens our mind

Traveling is a great way to broaden your range of knowledge and interests and diversify your daily routine with new impressions. Visiting a strange country is like getting to another world. At first sight, it all looks familiar: people, cars, buildings… But every city has its own peculiar atmosphere and spirit that can be felt in the air. We can clearly see it in paintings by Leonid Afremov who creates incredible cityscapes using a unique palette knife technique. This time he painted Stockholm, the famed capital of Sweden where you can visit amazing sights and spend a great time. And even if you don’t have plane tickets to Stockholm in your pocket, you can still get there - with this fabulous painting!

Beautiful city panorama

It’s a quiet and nice evening. The sky has already turned dark and the houses lit up their windows burning softly in the dusk and reflecting in the calm water surface. There is nobody in the street; families gathered at the table and are having dinner idly talking about the events of the day. The seafront is empty, only a few boats are moored at the pier swaying quietly along with the waves. The sky over the house roofs is filled with bright strokes of paint that resemble fireworks or a magical rain falling down on the city. On a night like this, it’s good to contemplate the dance of city lights out of the window or walk down a desolate street, surrounded by the warm glow of lamp posts. Whatever option you choose, Stockholm will enchant you with its beautiful views and cozy magic!

Interesting facts about Stockholm

-    Did you know that the city actually stands on 14 islands connected by a total of 57 bridges? Therefore, no matter where you are, you will still be close to water.

-    Stockholm’s Royal Palace is the biggest in the world. It counts over 500 rooms.

-    The city boasts the narrowest alley in the world barely spanning 90cm of width.

-    Stockholm is where all Noble Prize ceremonies take place.

-    Fishing is allowed everywhere in Stockholm, even in private areas. You can steer a boat without any license and even build one on shore.

Stockholm is undoubtedly an interesting place to visit. Put this marvelous painting on your wall and take an imaginary trip to this wonderful city whenever you feel like traveling! Today, we received our first Abramov painting, Under One Umbrella. It was a Mother's Day early gift and my mom's mouth just felt open for several seconds when she saw it hanging in her living room. We had looked through Mr. Abramov's paintings on his website together and were mesmerized. Seeing this one in person was wonderfully uplifting. I am ordering 2 more today and will hope to fill my home with others in the future. What a blessing to have found this exciting artist that has brought light into our homes. You are a blessed individual. May you be filled with health and happiness for so many years to come. Giselle Chamizo April 11, 2014
