Rainy Weather
Autumn Storm
Although at first it may seem that Leonid Afremov in his canvas depicted a truly autumn weather. This is not quite so, or rather not at all. Have you ever seen such heavy rain in the fall? Most likely, no. It may be only in early September when it is still quite warm and it is really summer weather outdoors, but not in October when the trees are already dressed in their autumn outfits and yellow and red fires are burning all around. In this painting, our characters are surrounded by the brightest autumn colors:
But all of them are almost completely washed away under a barrage of elements. We can only see two small trees on the left and on the right side of the characters of the painting – it's amazing how they can withstand such a squall, it seems that even some stronger gust can tear up the roots of the trees from the ground. Now imagine what the main characters of this painting, a young couple walking in such bad weather under an umbrella, feel – we see that the girl leaned as closely as possible against the guy. And it is not clear whether she did it in her own volition or whether she was pressed by a strong gust of wind and she barely holds the balance.
