I would like to present my hand painted oil on canvas painting (recreation) of the artwork RACE ON THE SNOW 2. I made this piece with the same amount of soul and emotion just like the first original painting. This piece is created with oil paint on artistic canvas using my unique technique of a palette knife. The artwork has texture, you can feel the strokes by touching the painting. By purchasing on this site, you are buying directly from the artist Leonid Afremov. I guarantee your satisfaction and the best customer experience.

The certificate of authenticity will include the name of the owner who purchased the piece of artwork. The certificate is signed by Leonid Afremov. If you buying this painting as a gift, please provide us the name of the gift recipient for the certificate. We can also ship to the address of the recipient of your gift.

about this painting:

Heated race, cold snow

Framed art needs an exquisite frame and a marvellous canvas. We do not know where you can find such a frame, but a sample of a skilfully painted canvas can always be found amongst Leonid Afremov’s artworks. This work is one of the examples of animalistic paintings created by the master. Those who like races, with their  ardour and intrigue, are able to appreciate the contrast between horse-racers and horses eager to win, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the cold snow trying to prevent them from galloping. The moment of the race is so vividly depicted on the canvas that, looking at it, one cannot but feel as if one was present at the race track.

Will to win

Our lives are full of battles, and these battles are won by those who are stronger and wiser, and by those who truly deserve a victory. A race is one of the most accurate metaphors for the competitive struggle of life. Here on the canvas we see five horsemen whose only desire is to be the first to finish. Their faces are indistinguishable, so that we cannot read from them the horsemen’s emotions, but the riders’ tense figures give their feelings away, and the horses look concentrated as well, with their pulled muscles and muzzles directed to the finish line. And there is one more character on this painting – the white raising snow embracing horses’ figures, making it harder for them to make their way through its freezing cloud, and yet nothing can overcome these horse-racers’ will to win, and someone’s victory is close at hand.

Pieces of advice on frames

  1. An artwork set in a frame looks more impressive than frameless one. However, only a well-chosen frame can make a canvas look nice.
  2. A frame should become an organic part of the painting it frames. Its colour should neither contradict nor merge with the main colours of the canvas.
  3. A good framed artwork is such a work where the frame does not compete with the painting in inventiveness. A frame should be just a modest servant of the painting to which it belongs.

This fine canvas by Leonid Afremov deserves a good servant, so remember itwhenbuying this artwork.

Dear Leonid, To date my husband and I have purchased over 20 of your paintings. Your work is brilliant and we dearly love it. We are now framing and they will hang all over our home and our office for everyone we know to see. Working with Inessa and Boris has also been a pleasure. Shipping is done very well and quickly where possible. Your prices are extremely reasonable. Blessings to you and your family. May the recognition of your work reach the skies as well as the value of your pieces.

I recently purchased two of these beautiful paintings. My paintings are absolutely amazing!! When I was researching the site, I found several negative reviews from outside sources. I don't know what these people were talking about because my paintings are marvelous. I will be buying many more paintings from Mr. Afremov in the future and I thank him for these wonderful works of art!!

I received my paintings two days ago. I purchased the Venice Grand Canal, beautiful beyond words and Mr. Afremov had a special going to receive one free. It is called The End of Patience! They are more beautiful than I expected. Thank you so much Leonid. I really really love them!
