about this painting:

Music Monsieur

Tender melody

Would you like to enjoy a fascinating sounds of the violin? Leonid Afremov is ready to give you such an opportunity. This oil painting called Music Monsieur is fulfilled with a rich palette of colors. In this painting, as in many others by the artist, the background is made in very bright colors. Multicolored strokes are layered on the figure of the musician violinist himself who is a real master. He is so keen on playing the violin that he even closed his eyes. Submerged into the music, he does not want to notice anyone, completely giving himself to the playing. Apparently he has already reached the heights of his glory and feels quite confident. He does not need to prove anything to his listener, he has already proved everything.

His clothes and appearance correspond to the image of a classical musician –an elegant suit with a bow, his beard and mustache are neatly trimmed - after all, he has no right to deceive the expectations of his listeners. It seems that he is ready to play for several hours without pauses. His fingers glide masterfully along the strings of the violin, which emits amazingly beautiful sounds caressing the ears of listeners.

We are sure that this painting will be a wonderful gift to any lover of classical music. It does not matter which instrument he or she plays –whether it is violin or contrabass, anyone who plays a musical instrument knows that this art is always worthy of respect and the attitude of the audience is very important for any musician.

Mysterious masters

No other musical instrument is covered with such a halo of mystery as a violin. Here are some interesting stories and unexpected facts about great violinists:

  1. The most outstanding violinist in history Niccolo Paganini at one of the concerts performed the composition using two strings only. One of his admirers said enthusiastically to the maestro, "You are an absolutely outrageous person who can now beat you, only one who plays on one string, but it is absolutely impossible!" Paganini liked the idea, and two weeks later he performed the sonata on one string.
  2. Few people know that the creator of the theory of relativity and the grandfather of the atomic bomb - the physicist Albert Einstein, masterly played the violin. Einstein was engaged in playing the violin from the age of six, and in 1934 he arranged a charity concert, where he played some Mozart's works.
  3. The most expensive musical instrument in the world is a violin made by the Italian master Giuseppe Guarineri. In 2010, it was sold at an auction in Chicago for $ 18 million. This same master made the favorite violin of Paganini, which before his death, the virtuoso bequeathed to his native Genoa.
