Morning Light 2
In his painting called Morning Light 2 on 36 x 24 in canvas Leonid Afremov depicted a kind of park alley. But we don’t see an alley as such – it is completely overgrown with grass, and only the lanterns standing in a straight line mark a clearing along which once lay an alley. Now in this place we see only grass of juicy green color covered with a carpet of golden leaves. We understand that the artist painted the autumn landscape because the leaves on the trees on either side of the alley are painted in golden light and dark green colors. The lawn in the foreground is covered with foliage which is also painted in brown. In the distance we see a silhouette of a person walking along the alley. Judging by the figure, this is a woman. Perhaps she is even running or walking somewhere on this soft green carpet at a quick pace. It is not excluded that she is engaged in morning jogging. After all, the sky painted in a misty pale color clearly resembles the morning one. The autumn sun has not yet risen in the sky and the air is still quite fresh. The fading park is foggy.
Those who are engaged in morning jogging certainly know how sometimes it is difficult to get out of a warm bed, get dressed and go outside especially in the cold season when the difference between the temperatures indoors and outdoors is quite high. But the protagonist of our painting moved beyond himself or herself and enjoys the amazing autumn colors, pleasant fresh air and the delightful atmosphere of the autumn park.
