about this painting:
TREES OF MAGIC
The magic of the artist
After a hot summer day there’s nothing better than rain. If you want to feel some freshness after the sun was scorching all day, rain seems to be a salvation. You can fully enjoy it when you go somewhere outside, for example, to the park. A park is like an oasis in the middle of a stone city. During the day, you can hide from the scorching sun there, feel cool breeze refreshing you in the shade of its trees. In the evening you can take a romantic stroll with your loved one or friends. You can also enjoy a nice evening walk alone. You can read a book while having a picnic on the grass. You can dream about your future or reminisce about your past, looking at the canvas art decor.
The artist’s trick
This panting can be an excellent piece of canvas art for you apartment. When we look at it we feel festivity even though it’s raining and we are supposed to be sad. Isn’t it interesting how Leonid Afremov managed to make us feel happy when we look at the canvas art?
Why do we feel this way?
The warm glow of the lanterns makes us feel cozy and comfortable. It seems to be covering us with a blanket and saving us from the rain.
The color yellow that comes from the street lamps in this canvas painting is considered by psychologists to be uplifting and cheerful.
Wet leaves on the trees reflect all the lights from the lanterns, city lights and faraway stars. They are iridescent in the moonlight. Using his palette knife and his special technique, Leonid Afremov made the crowns of the trees look incredibly picturesque.
The glassy wet pavement reflects all of the beauty of the night as a big mirror. The reflections of the lanterns look like little setting suns, leaving their sunny paths on the asphalt as if they were on a lake.
You can notice a dark silhouette in the left corner of the painting.
Many questions arise when we look at it:
Where is he going?
Is he waiting for someone?
How long has he been there?
Is he happy or does he feel sad?
Is he cold or just enjoying the rainy summer evening?
Answers to all these questions can be given to us only by the author of this painting. Even if we can’t get the answers, this canvas did give us many emotions and still keeps us wondering, which is what art is supposed to do.
