about this painting:

Love by the lake

 A quiet walk

This beautiful art work by Leonid Afremov called “Love by the lake” depicts a couple of lovers taking a quiet walk along the lake shore. They all alone and the entire park, with its rain-soaked alleys, solemn bare trees and romantic lanterns, belongs to them. To capture this intricate combination of cold and warmth, this subtle line between solitude and intimacy, the artist uses a contrast of orange and blue shades that divide the canvas in half merging on the wet asphalt.

Peaceful water views have a relaxing impact on the human soul. The smooth surface of the park lake reflecting the finest details of the surrounding landscape, the gentle ripple caused by falling leaves and the pleasant smell of water plants create a calm, contemplative mood and take your mind away from everyday problems. Here, far from urban haste and street noise, you can reconnect with your inner self and feel the healing touch of nature.

Talking in the language of light and color

On the forefront, we see a finely painted tree skeleton whose black branches penetrate through the rich lantern light and the cloudy sky as if trying to reach for the moon. The glowing lantern bulbs scatter the darkness and create a cozy corridor of red and yellow descending down to the horizon. As the viewer’s eye proceeds deeper into the scene, everything gets lost in a blue mist that transforms the tree silhouettes on the other side of the lake into wandering ghosts and covers the water surface with an eerie silvery frosting.

Room design tips

Using his signature palette knife technique, Leonid Afremov created another imaginative and profound artwork expanding the limits of our daily routine and allowing us to see the true beauty of the surrounding world. “Love by the lake” will make a great piece of home décor for true art appreciators. It can be used in nearly any interior regardless of the design style you prefer. Before going with this specific artwork, though, take the following steps:

·         Measure the available wall space to make sure the painting will fit into it.

·         Consider the wall and furniture color. Does the canvas look like a good match?

·         Imagine the painting next to other décor elements you’re planning to use in the room. Is it in line with the overall interior design?

We hope love paintings by Leonid Afremov will find a suitable place on your wall and charge you with positive energy every time you look at the canvas!

I would like to say, that these paintings are amazing. I ordered the "John Lennon" portrait for my parents and they love it. I finally ordered one for myself, "summer scent", which I also got, "Brown Bridge", free. They just arrived today and are exceptionally beautiful. If anyone is ever skeptical about the price or quality, just read the reviews. Leonid is amazing.

A month ago a friend of mine sent me a powerpoint presentation with French philosophical thoughts. I however had only eye for the background... the paintings of an unknown artist. I managed to decipher his name and checked out the website of mr. Afremov. It had been a very long time since I literally gasped for breath when I saw a painting. When I saw "Together in the storm", this feeling of immense joy, admiration that someone can actually paint this (and especially rain!), and gratitude that it didn't cost a fortune, was there again. I received my painting yesterday, beautifully stretched. It has found a safe home in Flanders and a strategic place in my study where I can admire it while working.
