About Leonid Afremov Studio -

about this painting:

Cat Guitarist 1

Musical Cat

Leonid Afremov is pleased to present to your attention Cat Guitarist 1, another painting that combines two of his most favorite topics - cats and musical instruments.

In the painting we see a cat-musician or rather cat-guitarist. Judging by his widely opened mouth we can conclude that he is singing. The background of the painting is made in the form of strokes of different colors. And whereas on the left we see more dark shades - purple and blue - on the right they turn into lighter ones – red, yellow and orange. Perhaps the most expressive in the painting is the cat's muzzle. The artist was very good at expressing his emotions – this is joy and delight, pleasure and satisfaction from his own playing. We are looking at two very lively yellow-green eyes. In them there is a certain cunning and some passion. The body of the cat is very smeared and we can hardly distinguish what he is wearing. But judging from the fact that we see a white patch on his chest in the form of a triangular cut, we can assume that this is a light shirt from the national costume of some people, it is also supplemented with a hat on the head. If the outlines were at least a little more distinguishable, we would be able to determine what kind of people this suit belongs to. But if not to go into details, then at first glance it can be described as Bavarian or Tyrolean.

The guitar in the paws of the cat is the most common – we can clearly see its yellow body and strings, elongated bar and resonator hole.

This bright picture, imbued with the atmosphere of creativity and cheerfulness, gives you only the most positive emotions.

Guitarists for all times

… but not only the emotions. Perhaps it will also inspire you on starting playing guitar if you have never taken this instrument in your hands. And the examples of people, whom we will talk we’re going to talk about, the best guitarists, extraordinary and very talented musicians who loved their occupation very much, are here to strengthen this inspiration:

  1. Jimmy Hendrix masterfully controlled the guitar and was able to play almost by any part of his body. He brought many innovative ideas to music becoming a living embodiment of his own music.
  2. BB King, better known to the world as the "King of the Blues", from the very early years sang in the choir, and at the age of 12 he already bought his first guitar.
  3. Eric Clapton. He is called one of the most influential musicians in the era of rock, the cult magazine Rolling Stone ranked him 4th in the list of the world's most talented guitarists.
