about this painting:
The autumn purity
Autumn Waterfall is a painting by Leonid Afremov, striking by its marvelous colors – we see not only golden autumn shades – the entire forest is literally flooded with gold – but also crystal blue waters of the forest brook. This is the very height of autumn and the trees literally blaze with an orange flame. Perhaps these are the most beautiful days of the year.
In the center of the painting we see a small waterfall plunging down from a small slope at an angle of almost 90 degrees. We see falling blue streams and white foam raging waters. Everything indicates that it is very clean water and looking at it you just want to cling to the stream and take a few large sips. And if you are lucky enough, you will see a deer or some other animal descending to the stream to drink some water.
Water is falling!
Waterfalls are an amazing phenomenon of nature, fascinating with its beauty and sometimes frightening with its power. They invariably attract thousands of tourists. Perhaps, the waters falling with a crash is a sight that you should see with your own eyes at least once in your life.
Let’s cite some interesting facts about waterfalls:
- The highest waterfall in the world is located in Venezuela, on the territory of Canaima National Park. The streams of water fall from one mountain plateau to another from a height of 1034 meters. This waterfall is called Angel. It received its name in honor of the aviator James Angel. In 1933, he flew over the waterfall, trying to discern from the air the deposits of diamonds that the natives spoke about. It is interesting that this waterfall falls from the mountain called Auyantepui, which can be translated as Devil's Mountain.
- The widest waterfall on Earth is the Khon cascade in Laos. The total width of this waterfall on the Mekong River exceeds 10 kilometers.
- Another powerful waterfall is Victoria, located in West Africa. 1800 meters wide, it collapses from a height of 120 meters. This is the only waterfall in the world that is at the same time more than a kilometer wide and over 100 meters high.
Enjoy the stunning bright colors of the autumn canvas.
