about this painting:

Attracted by the movie theatre

The development of oil painting art supplies played a big role in the development of Impressionism. Impressionism brought much to art, for instance, impressionists modernized colors. They abandoned the dark, earth paints and started using pure spectral colors on the canvas without their preliminary mixing on a palette. Play of shadows appears on the canvas instead of dark-colored hues. If you look at the canvas “Movie Theatre”, you will see many pure colors in spite of the fact that night is depicted on it. The only source of light – the outdoor lighting that decorate the exterior of the movies and look marvelous.

Have a look at the movie posters that are visible round the clock and forget about everything as you watch the movie. Cinema always attracted many viewers. The highest-grossing films include:

·                    Harry Potter

·                    Middle-Earth series of Peter Jackson

·                    Transformers

·                    Pirates of Caribbean and others.

Role of art supplies in the development of impressionism and oil painting art

The invention of metal tubes for paints also influenced art. The paints in metal tubes replaced the old paints that were made manually from the oil and powder pigments. The painters could use these paints in the open air and there was no necessity to work in the studio only as before. The painters worked fast because the sun moved quickly and this changed the colors of the landscape. Sometimes they squeezed paints from the tube directly onto the canvas to give the effect of smear to clean sparkling colors.

Putting brushstrokes next to each other, the painters often made the surface rough and left it this way. It is known that the complex tone can be always decomposed into a series of simple tones so the impressionists created the system when the complex tones are decomposed and separate pure colors are mixed in the eye of the viewer creating the colored shadows when perceived by people.

I purchased a piece to hang in my dorm room to remind me of home (my parents are art fanatics) and I am overwhelmingly pleased with it. Thanks to the painting, my roommate has taken down all her silly posters and has ordered her own painting. It really brings beauty to such a depressing room. Thank you.

I just received my painting in the mail and it is absolutely amazing. It looks even better than it does on the website. I love all the vivid colors and being able to see the intricate brush strokes in person really gives the painting a sense of movement and passion. Can't wait to get it framed and put up on my wall. Keep up the great work! I hope to buy another piece soon.
