If you ask anyone what the most passionate dance is, they will almost certainly answer: tango. Crisp rhythm, emotional moves, a charge of electricity between the partners… Every pace, every wave of a hand, every turn of the head is filled with tension and fire. Originated in the poor districts of Buenos Aires, tango quickly spread to the upper classes of society through street and theatre performances and is now known as one of the most popular dances in the world.

Since its appearance, tango has evolved into a number of varieties, each characterized by its own peculiar dancing style:

• Argentine tango has a strong element of improvisation and encourages a more natural, emotionally saturated dance.
• Ballroom tango is a classic part of the internationally accepted program based on stricter canons and predetermined moves.
